Story
Irresistibly charming creatures that seem to secretly belong to a mystical world of magic, cats have a way of bringing out all the love in your heart without lifting a paw. Their elusive love though, has to be earned. Although you know that their hearts beat for you even when they try their best to hide it. The eternal grace of cats, even in their sleep, in fact, especially when they sleep makes them look like pieces of art strolling around in the world. Doing all of us a favour, they bring their sweet, furry presence into our lives and leave us truly smitten.
This dreamy drape is a handloom cotton saree.
This collection is an exploration of some of our favourite animals and the traits that we humans share with them. The mystical connection that we share with these animals is expressed through Origami inspired shapes that come alive on the soft fabric. The intricate weaving is done by master artisans in West Bengal and a single saree takes approximately 1.5 weeks to be hand-spun and hand-woven. In fact, the entire family of a weaver works to create every product and are involved in various steps of weaving. The magical collection is a result of our designer staying with the artisans for over 3 weeks to understand their world and create this contemporary take on handloom sarees.

Description
Handloom cotton is a type of fabric that is woven using hand operated looms. Two sets of interlacing yarns, the warp (length) and weft (width), are woven on a mechanised loom operated by weavers. These looms do not use electricity. Human handling lends the fabrics a unique feel and renders the fabrics more value. The resultant fabric is softer, more durable and much more comfortable than machine-made fabrics. Handloom cotton is more breathable and thus feels lighter in summers and provides more insulation in winters.
The art of hand weaving is labour intensive and takes a longer time. But, the beauty it adds to the fabric is priceless. Choosing handloom cotton supports the rich weaving heritage of India and lets the weavers carry on the precious art-form to the future generations as well.
